New and Returning Players are all Welcome!

This is the 33rd season for Challenger Baseball and we are excited to get started. Spring is almost here and itโ€™s that time of year again. The fields wait to be played on, the bats and balls are ready to be used. All they need is YOU!

Challenger is a valley wide league. Since there are not enough players in one area, we combine from all over the valley to make up teams. Challenger is a learning and developing league, so the rules are altered to fit the needs of the players. We also discovered that our players didnโ€™t have much interest in practices, โ€œthey just want to playโ€ so itโ€™s a teaching experience with each game.

Games last about 1 ยฝ hours or about 2 or 3 innings. We have found that this is about all they last. Durations may vary depending on the weather and player enthusiasm.

Check the schedule and registration pages for additional information.

New Players

The only equipment you will need to provide is a mitt. The only recommendation is โ€œDo Notโ€ buy a plastic mitt. Leather is bendable and will break in where plastic wonโ€™t. There are a few second-hand sporting goods places in town and another great place to find good mitts is on eBay (Iโ€™ve bought a few there). The type of ball that we use is an incredi-ball this is a soft type ball so there is less chance of injury.

Returning Players

We are looking forward to see all of the familiar faces again. As before, if you have a particular team or player you would like to be associated with, please let us know on the registration form. We are not able to make changes after the teams have been assembled.
